Union Ministers Receive Chief of the Mission of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Myanmar

Union Minister for Labour U Myint Naung and Union Minister for Health Dr Thet Khaing Win received Mr. Daihei Mochizuki, Chief of the Mission of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Myanmar, and his delegation at the Ministries, on 9 and 10 September.

• During the call paid on Union Minister for Labour, they discussed the matters related to the safety and security of Myanmar migrant workers employed in various countries, social protection to these migrant workers, plans to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Ministry and IOM to further collaborate on labour-related matters and management of international labour migration through cooperating between the Ministry of Labour and IOM.
• During the call paid on Union Minister for Health, they discussed matters on acceleration of health care services for the migrant community including the preventive measures for tuberculosis, malaria and AIDS, necessary measures for systematic management on the medicines and medical equipment used for infectious disease prevention not to be communicated to any unauthorized person or organizations, cooperation for rendering health care services to the displaced persons at the IDP Camps in Rakhine State and further cooperation.

Deputy Ministers, permanent-secretaries, directors-general, other officials and representatives of IOM attended the meetings, report says.
