Union Election Commission (UEC) held a ceremony to explain the upgrade of Central Voters List Management System (CVLMS) at the meeting hall of the UEC on 6 September. During the event, the UEC Chair U Ko Ko discussed as follows:
- The commission organized workshops aiming to share experiences and suggestions regarding the CVLMS, and this system was upgraded based on the recommendations of such workshops.
- In doing so, the voter lists and facts of an election for townships, wards, and village-tracts in each constituency can be easily collected in compiling CVLMS with the use of Admin and DEO software and then, such data can be sent to relevant election sub-commissions step by step in time. The upgraded software can ensure the accurate voter lists in line with election law and by-laws, and designation of polling stations. Furthermore, the CVLMS can help prevent the persons who are under the age of 18 and the persons who are passed away from the voter lists, and avoid the same voter lists. The software can be used in the FPTP and PR systems.
The ceremony was attended by the UEC Chair U Ko Ko, Union Minister for Science and Technology Dr. Myo Thein Kyaw, UEC members, departmental heads, Rector of Computer University (Taungoo) Dr. Ei Ei Hlaing and professors and departmental officials.
