On 4 September, the Myanmar military delegation led by Lt-Gen Soe Min Oo left for Laos People’s Democratic Republic to attend the 21st ASEAN Chiefs of Defence Forces Meeting (ACDFM-21) on behalf of the State Administration Council Chairman Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing.
The Myanmar military delegation led by Lt-Gen Soe Min Oo met Lt-Gen Khamlieng Outhakaisone, Deputy Minister of National Defence of Laos, and discussed the enhancement of military ties and cooperation between the two defence forces. In the evening, Myanmar delegation attended a dinner reception in honour of the 21st ASEAN Chiefs of Defence Forces Meeting, hosted Lt Gen Khamlieng Outhakaisone at Latsavong Wanda Vista Hotel.
During the 21st ASEAN Chiefs of Defence Forces Meeting (ACDFM-21) which was held at Latsavong Wanda Vista Hotel on 5 September:
- The high-ranking military delegations of the ASEAN and representatives made discussion under the title “ASEAN-Together for Peace, Security and Resilience” in an alphabetical order of the country;
- Lt-Gen Soe Min Oo of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army) discussed in detail under the title “ASEAN-Together for Peace, Security and Resilience” that highlights ASEAN's main objectives and activities;
- Lt-Gen Soe Min Oo of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army) separately met Chief of Defence Forces of Royal Thai Armed Forces General Songwit Noonpackdee, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army (VPA) and Deputy Defence Minister Senior Lt-Gen Nguyen Tan Cuong and Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces (RCAF) General Vong Pisen, and openly discussed enhancement of bilateral relations between the armed forces.
Lt-Gen Kyaw Swa Lin, Chief of Staff (Army) and delegates attended 14th ASEAN Military Operation Meeting (14th AMOM) and Deputy Chief of Military Security Affairs Maj-Gen Min Thu and delegates attended 21st ASEAN Military Intelligence Meeting (21st AMIM), held at Latsavong Wanda Vista Hotel on 3 September.
During the 21st ASEAN Chiefs of Defence Forces Meeting (21st ACDFM), the chairmanship and the flag of the ASEAN Chiefs of Defence Forces Meeting (ACDFM Flag) were handed over to Chief of Defence Forces (Malaysia), who will act as the rotating chairman of the 22nd ASEAN Chiefs of Defence Forces Meeting (22nd ACDFM). Myanmar military delegation returned to Yangon International Airport, Myanmar on the evening of 7 September, it is reported.
