SAC Member Deputy Prime Minister and Union Defence Minister Admiral Tin Aung San Addresses 6/2024 Coordination Meeting of Central Body for Summoning People’s Military Servants

Central Body for Summoning People’s Military Servants held its 6/2024 Coordination Meeting at the meeting hall of the Ministry of Defence on 3 September. SAC member Deputy Prime Minister and Union Defence Minister Admiral Tin Aung San, in his capacity as Chairman of the Central Body, attended the event and addressed the meeting as follows:

  • The Committees for Summoning People’s Military Servants in Nay Pyi Taw Council, Regions and States should be aware not to summon those with disabilities, illegible persons and those exempted, suspended and relieved under the People’s Military Service Law.
  • In transportation of trainees to the training schools via Nay Pyi Taw Council and the region/state centers, the committees have made arrangements to transport those trainees who face difficulties in traveling by land or water routes to the respective training schools via aircrafts, helicopters and vessels.
  • After four batches of the People’s Military Servants Training have been conducted, there are strength and weakness related to the tasks for summoning people’s military servants, medical checks-up, and acceptance of trainees. It is encouraged that discussions and suggestions could be made regarding these processes.

Then, Vice-Chairman of the central body, Chief of the General Staff (Army, Navy and Air) General Maung Maung Aye also discussed matters related to exemption, relief and suspension of military training. The officials discussed the advantages and weaknesses in summoning trainees, the relevant ministries should cooperate with the work groups while the National Service Information Management System (NSIMS) is under implementation, training 5/2024 will be opened soon, and Nay Pyi Taw Council, region/state committees for summoning people’s military servants should make efforts in accordance with the procedures considering the previous strong and weak points, reports say.
