Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing Delivers a Speech at Meeting with Tutors, Teachers and Trainees at Mandalay Education Degree College

Chairman of the State Administration Council (SAC) Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, accompanied by entourage, Mandalay Region Chief Minister and officials, delivered a speech at the meeting with tutors, teachers and trainees at Mandalay Education Degree College of the Teacher Training Department under the Ministry of Education on 26 August, as follows:

  • As the 2014 population and household census showed the weakness in the education sector of the country, these weaknesses must be addressed to build the State with better human resources by encouraging the education sector.
  • Only when number of educated human resources increase will be the State developed.
  • Therefore, the government has been encouraging the development of education, in addition to, shaping the future of the country with educated human resources.
  • The government is actively promoting educational activities, and the teaching officials also need to teach all students to be able to master the subjects actually.
  • As well as being educated, they will also need to read, so the development of libraries and the campaigns on development of reading habits are being carried out.
  • With the opening of libraries in basic education schools, children’s good reading habits and reading power will improve and they will gain more knowledge and awareness.
  • As for the ethnic youths who are currently studying at the Education Degree College, when they arrive in the areas where they serve, they are required to teach the students they are truly literate and make an effort to increase the number of grades. With high transitions, educated human resources will become abundant.
  • Experiences and perspectives may vary between villages and cities, allowing individuals to adapt their work environments based on the living systems they encounter.
  • The light of knowledge obtained from reading and studying the literature of each will be able to provide a lot of support for the progress of one’s life, and they must be able to bring light and the right direction to their family and the environment in which they carry out their duties.
  • It is necessary to build a disciplined and systematic society to initiate the State with a strong multiparty democratic system. To do so, the trainees who would serve academic duties must collaborate on the emergence of the aforesaid society.
  • Taking lessons from the past events of the country, the trainees are urged to participate in shaping the future State through education.
  • Trainees have to seek knowledge and educational techniques from the college to be able to strive for participation in the enhancement of the education sector of the State as well as to have success in their lives. 

Later, the SAC Chairman Prime Minister and wife presented public science treatises, fiction and non-fiction books for the library of the degree college and teaching aid.
