Union Minister Dr. Nyunt Pe Joins 13th ASEAN Education Ministers’ Meeting

Myanmar delegation led by Union Minister for Education Dr. Nyunt Pe attended the 13th ASEAN Education Ministers’ Meeting which was hosted by Thailand on 24 August along with representatives from ASEAN member countries, representatives from Timor-Leste and partner organizations.

During the meeting, participants from each country took turns to discuss the title under the theme “Transforming Education in the Digital Era” and the Union Minister highlighted the points as follows:

• Digital technology and the capability of innovations are to be used in developing job opportunities.
• High-speed internet and digital tools have to be equipped in universities, colleges, and schools.
• Provision of digital tools to students includes sharing the knowledge regarding the latest techniques for the use of digital devices and online platforms and teaching methods.

.         The respective delegates and the ASEAN Deputy Secretary-General then exchanged views on the discussionss. The 14th ASEAN Education Ministers Meeting will be hosted by Singapore in 2026, it is reported.
