A ceremony to present prizes to the outstanding students who passed the matriculation examination 2024 with distinctions in all subjects took place at Myanmar International Convention Centre-II (MICC-II) in Nay Pyi Taw on 22 July, with the attendance of Chairman of the State Administration Council (SAC) Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing who presented the prizes of honour to the outstanding students.
First, the SAC Chairman Prime Minister and attendees watched the performance of the students with the song of “Let’s honor to those with flying colours”.
Afterward, the SAC Chairman Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing delivered a speech as follows:
- “Knowledge” provides “wisdom” that can differentiate between the good and the bad and understand the cause and effect. The nation can establish “a true force” that can serve the country’s interest only if the “intelligence level” of all the citizens is high.
- In the previous years, although the outstanding students were honoured only at the levels of regions and states and departments, all students who passed the matriculation examination with all distinctions from across the nation are honoured at “the national level for the first time” this year. A total of the 507 students with flying colours will be honoured with 0.5 tical pure gold coins deservedly.
- The SAC sent the students who scored highest marks in the subject wise categories in 2022 for domestic and oversea excursions with the aim of providing them with regional knowledge and the spirit to love and value their country and race.
- The classroom can only give knowledge of perception. Students must not be satisfied with this level. All outstanding students are urged to continue learning through hard work to become valued human resources and experts who gave wisdom for their families, societies and nation.
- In line with the motto “The strength of the nation lies within”, undertakings of the development tasks of the country requires intellectuals and intelligentsia in the arts and science world. Hence, youths have to emphasize studying both arts and science subjects.
- Currently, they need to notice that digital technology can create everything. The students are urged to constantly study digital technology so that the country can keep abreast of other global countries.
- Youths have to abide by the prescribed disciplines and laws to achieve success in their lives. Only when they abide by disciplines and laws adopted by the government will valuable citizens become without sins for serving the nation.
Then, the SAC Chairman Prime Minister and officials presented individual prizes to the outstanding students.
Following this, a female student, on behalf of the outstanding students with all distinctions in the 2024 matriculation examination, spoke words of thanks. Then, the SAC Chairman Prime Minister and dignitaries enjoyed the performances of the students with the song titles “Outstanding Youth” and “Myanmar’s School”.
After the ceremony, the SAC Chairman Prime Minister and party posed for documentary photos together with 31 students with the highest marks across the nation, and the Senior General cordially greeted all attendees. Then, the Senior General and party had a lunch together with the outstanding students.
Also present at the ceremony together with the Senior General were SAC Vice-Chairman Deputy Prime Minister Vice-Senior General Soe Win, the SAC Joint Secretary, SAC members, rectors, principals, the outstanding students and their parents, and officials.
