Martial Law Order Issued in Shan State under Area of Northern Command

In order to effectively provide security, the rule of law and community peace, the State Ad­ministration Council has transferred the executive and judicial power (Martial Law) to the Commander of the Northern Command to exercise martial law in Momeik and Mabein Townships of northern Shan State under the area of Northern Command.

Depending upon the changing situation in the region, the commander shall exercise Martial Law by himself or shall transfer the power to the regional military commanders. From February 2021 to 28 February 2024, there have been 58 townships where Martial Law order has been issued, it is reported.
