Union Minister for Commerce U Aung Naing Oo attended the 20th China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) and the 20th China-ASEAN Business & Investment Summit which were held in Nanning, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region of the People’s Republic of China. In this regards,
- On 14 September, Union Minister met Mr. Lan Tianli, Governor of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region to discuss about the promotion of trade and cooperation in tourism sector.
- On 15 September, Union Minister and party observed the trade processes at China-Viet Nam Border Town of Pingxiang, and the processes on the importation of fruits from Viet Nam and Thailand to China at the China-ASEAN Fruit Trading Centre in Pingxiang.
- On 16 September, Union Minister attended the 2023 China-ASEAN Silk Road E-commerce Forum, and delivered a speech that the countries along the Silk Road need to make investments in digital infrastructure and launch transnational cooperation, and innovative and creative measures to develop the e-commerce on Silk Road.
- Then, Union Minister attended Mandalay Region Trade, Investment and Tourism Promotion Conference which was held at the Nanning International Convention and Exhibition Center (NICEC), and said that the Chinese business people should invest in Myanmar as it is situated at the junction of regional trading routes of economic corridors.
- Moreover, they signed five agreements including the Cooperation Agreement of the Luban Workshop Operation Project in Myanmar, two MoUs on economic cooperation, cooperation agreements on trading and supply, and honey trading at the event.
- The Union Minister also attended the dinner of honor welcoming China-ASEAN Expo hosted by the Premier Li Qiang together with the leaders of delegations from ASEAN Countries.
- On 17 September, Union Minister U Aung Naing Oo together with Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation, Union Minister for Construction, Myanmar Ambassador to the People’s Republic of China and high-ranking officials also attended the 20th CAEXPO and the 20th China-ASEAN Business & Investment Summit.
- The Union minister viewed round the booths of Myanmar entrepreneurs at the 20th CAEXPO.
- They opened Myanmar National Exhibition Hall by cutting the ceremonial ribbon and also visited the Myanmar national showroom where features industrial zones, tourism zones and housing development projects being implemented around Mandalay chosen as a pleasant city.
- Union minister U Aung Naing Oo together with the Secretary of Chinese Communist Party Guangxi Committee, Governor of Guangxi Province, Deputy Minister for Trade and Commerce of China, ASEAN Secretary-General and Minister for Commerce and Industry of Singapore attended the Institutional Opening-up for New Economic Growth.
- The Union Minister received Chinese media agencies at the Liyuan State Guest House, and replied to the queries regarding the matters on bilateral economic cooperation, China-ASEAN Collaboration and future prospects.
The 20th China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) and the 20th China-ASEAN Business & Investment Summit were attended by Premier Li Qiang of the People’s Republic of China, Cambodian Prime Minister, Laotian Prime Minister, Malaysian Prime Minister, Vietnamese Prime Minister, Indonesia’s Vice-President, Minister for Commerce and Industry of Singapore, Minister for Development of Brunei, Deputy Minister for Commerce and Industry of the Philippines, Deputy Prime Minister and Commerce Minister of Thailand, Deputy Minister for Commerce and Industry of Timor Leste and ASEAN Secretary-General.
