K4.945 Billion worth of more than 16 Million of Stimulant Tablets and 100 Kilos of Heroin Confiscated

Responding a tip-off, the combined team including members Anti-Drug Task Force searched a warehouse at Ward (I), Pyigyidagun Township on 8 January. During the search, the combined team arrested Sar Oo and Mai Aik Kyin, along with 11.1 million stimulant tablets and 92.4 kilos of heroin.

According to the interrogation,

  • On 9 January, security personnel arrested Hla Thein living in Kanthaya Ward, Chanmyathazi Township, along with 4.4 kilos of heroin.
  • On 10 January, security personnel arrested Hein Latt and Ma Aye Aye Aung living in Ohnchaw village, Patheingyi Township, along with 4.4 kilos of heroin and 0.5 million of stimulant tablets at their farm.  
  • In total, K4.945 billion worth of more than 16 million of stimulant tablets and 100 kilos of heroin were confiscated.

Further investigations revealed that the seized stimulant pills and heroin were intended for transportation from Shan State to Mandalay Region first, and then to Kachin State. Legal action has been initiated, and authorities are actively investigating and identifying individuals involved in that drug-related crimes.
