State Administration Council (SAC) Member Union Minister for Home Affairs Lt-Gen Yar Pyae, Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Than Swe, and seven NCA-signatory EAOs received a delegation led by H.E. Mr. Alounkeo Kittikhoun, Special Envoy of ASEAN Chair on Myanmar in Nay Pyi Taw separately on 10 January. In this regard:
- During the meeting with the SAC Member Union Minister for Home Affairs, both sides exchanged views on the matters relating to Myanmar’s peace processes, the status of peace talks with Ethnic Armed Organizations, ASEAN Five-Point Consensus and humanitarian aid issues.
- During the meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs, they exchanged views on the matters pertaining to further advancing the implementation status of the ASEAN five-point consensus in line with the Five Point Road Map in coordination with the ASEAN Chair and the Special Envoy, as well as the status of humanitarian assistance.
- During the meeting with Seven NCA-signatory EAOs, they discussed the issues related to the Five-Point Consensus of ASEAN, peace process and humanitarian assistance in Myanmar, and frankly exchanged views on the attitudes of each EAO.
The meetings were attended by Union Ministers and officials concerned, seven NCA-signatory EAOs: the Arakan Liberation Party (ALP), the KNU/KNLA-Peace Council, the Lahu Democratic Union (LDU), the Pa-O National Liberation Organization (PNLO), the Democratic Kayin Benevolent Army (DKBA), and the New Mon State Party (NMSP), the Restoration Council of Shan State (RCSS), and the representatives of the Peace Process Steering Team (PPST).
