During the tenure of the State Administration Council Government, efforts are being made to increase export volume via border trade posts and regular trade routes. As a result:
- During a nearly five-month period from 1 April to 25 August of 2023-2024 FY, the total value of Myanmar-Thailand border trade reached US$ 2,312.555 million (US$ 1,6515.816 million exports and US$ 696.739 million imports). In comparison with the same period of the last year, 2023-2024 FY got US$ 230.065 million in surplus.
- During a five-month period from 1 April to 25 August of 2023-2024 FY, Myanmar bagged a total of US$ 4,088 million from the export of CMP products (US$ 1,427 million from the State-owned sector and US$ 2,661.219 million from private sector)
During an eight-month period from January to August 2023, Yangon Port saw the entry of more than 400 international commercial ships and conducted trading activities: 52 commercial ships in January, 51 in February, 55 in March, 50 in April, 56 in May 57 in June and 53 in July 2023 and 54 in August totalling 428. It is reported that 53 international container ships are scheduled to enter Yangon Port in September.
