At the invitation of Ms Elvira Azimova, President of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan, a delegation led by U Kyaw San, a member of the Constitutional Tribunal of the Union, attended the international conference on “Constitutional Justice: Dignity, Freedom, and Justice for All,’ held in Astana, the Republic of Kazakhstan, on 7 and 8 September.
During the discussion, participants focused on the role of constitutional regulation in promoting the protection of human rights and the effectiveness of constitutional control in taking measures of the rule of law. They exchanged views on various topics including issues related to justice and equal rights for citizens, constitutional perspectives on promoting the protection of human rights and exchanged views on their respective constitutional judicial experiences.
Representatives from the Republic of Kazakhstan participated in the discussion, and delegates from 19 countries, including court Presidents, Chief Justices, Judges, Commissioners from Human Rights Commissions, international organizations, local organizations, the Venice Commission, and international experts and jurists from other invited countries. Along with U Kyaw San, a member of the Constitutional Tribunal of the Union, Daw Khin Yu Par Oo, the assistant director of the Constitutional Tribunal of the Union also attended the conference.
