Myanmar Navy Rescues Tilted Cargo Ship near Hainggyikyun in Myanmar waters

Personnel of the Myanmar Navy conducting security operations in Myanmar waters near Hainggyikyun, Ayeyawady Region, rushed to the scene to conduct rescue activities after receiving a notification that a cargo ship had tilted about 10 miles southwest of Hainggyikyun around 11 pm on 10 September. The cargo ship was identified as the MV Shwe Eain Thi which had departed from Yangon heading to Sittway.

Due to inclement weather and strong winds, approximately 4,000 tonnes of cement bags on board shifted, causing the vessel to tilt and water to enter the engine room. Tatmadaw (Navy) security forces pumped out the water from the engine room, provided the necessary assistance and conducted rescue operations, it is reported.
