Chairman of State Administration Council Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing Inspects Kone Myint (1) Agriculture and Livestock Breeding Farm of North-East Command HQs

The Chairman of the State Administration Council (SAC) Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, accompanied by entourages, Shan State Chief Minister, Commander of North-East Command and officials, inspected the Kone Myint (1) Agriculture and Livestock Breeding Farm of the North-East Command HQs on 10 September.

At the briefing hall, the Commander of North-East Command reported on cultivation of monsoon paddy, millet, sunflower, nivea grass, homong grass, tissue banana, and seasonal crops, and fresian cow, beef cattle, local cow (nwa pya-sein), goat, DYL pig and fish, layer and broiler breeding at the farm, distribution of produce to Tatmadaw families, Myanmar Police Force members, education and departmental staff at reasonable prices, production of feed for chicken and pigs and selling of surplus products at fair prices.

After hearing the reports, the SAC Chairman Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services stressed the following points:

  • In carrying out the agricultural tasks, seeds, soil, water and technology must be systematically utilized to increase per-acre yield.
  • Shan State (North) should strive to become a model sunflower cultivation area by increasing per-acre yield in a systematic manner.
  • Tissue banana should be distributed to departments and local people in addition to battalions and units at fair prices to grow them.
  • In conducting the livestock tasks, milk cow, beef cattle, local cow, DYL pig, layer, broiler and fish farming should be systematically carried out.
  • The meat, fish and eggs should be sold to Tatmadaw families at reasonable prices and the surplus to departments and local people as a way to bring down commodity prices to a certain degree.
  • The Command HQs should strive to successfully carry out farming activities till its farm becomes a model business.

Later, the SAC Chairman Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services and party  inspected milk cow, beef cattle and local cow, DYL pig breeding, and looked around the farm. Then, the Senior General looked into the requirements presented by officials.
