Aids, Relief Materials, Supplies Transported to Victims of Cyclonic Storm MOCHA in Rakhine State

Military aircraft/helicopters and naval vessels are being used to deliver aids, relief materials and supplies to locals in Sittwe township of Rakhine state affected by the Cyclone Mocha. On 6 July, a total weight of 3.769 tonnes including basic foodstuffs and commodities were delivered by military aircraft.

On 10 July, a total weight of 749 tonnes including 8,000 bags of rice, 2,590 sets of household items, 3,174 sets of kitchen utensils, 15,000 sets of medical supplies, 1,516 tents, 1,076 bags of relief materials, 5,000 blankets, 20 chain saws, 50 solar-power lanterns, 50 VRLA batteries, 1,000 rolls of tarpaulin and 200 rolls of mattresses were transported to Sittwe.

Military aircraft/helicopters are being used to deliver aids, relief materials and supplies to locals affected by the Cyclone Mocha in a timely manner. From 15 May to 6 July, a total weight of 564.9 tonnes of relief materials and 3,542 people including military personnel and departmental staff who were to participate in rehabilitation activities, were conveyed by military aircraft. Concerned authorities received relief supplies transported by military aircrafts/helicopters and naval vessels, and they have been making arrangements to transport the supplies to storm-hit towns and villages, it is reported.
