Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Provides Relief Supplies to Flood Victims

The Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr. Soe Win, accompanied by concerned officials, arrived at the rescue camps in Hpa-An and Kyonedoe towns in Kayin State on 9 August. Then, he said words of comfort to flood victims and provided food stuffs to them.

He presented cast assistance of 31, 230,000 kyats to purchase food ration (rice) and food stuffs worth MMK 2,262,140 for 3,470 victims of 704 households from nine rescue camps in Hpa-An town. He also provided cast assistance of 6, 768,000 kyats to purchase food ration (rice) and MMK 842,240 worth food stuffs for 752 victims of 172 households from three rescue camps in Kyonedoe town, it is reported.
