The Chairman of the State Administration Council (SAC) Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services met the officers, other ranks and their families from Sittwe and Kanni Stations at the halls of respective military stations on 11 July.
Also present at the meetings were Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, wife of the Senior General, Chief of the General Staff (Army, Navy and Air) General Maung Maung Aye and wife, Commander-in-Chief (Navy) Admiral Moe Aung and wife, Commander-in-Chief (Air) General Tun Aung and wife, high ranking senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief and wives, commander of Western Command, and officers, other ranks and families of Sittwe and Kanni stations.
During the separate meetings, the SAC Chairman Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services delivered remarks as follows:
- The cyclone Mocha caused the largest casualties after cyclone Nargis.
- The storm Mocha left 148 persons dead but international community estimated that the region might face greater casualties.
- It should take a lesson that we could overcome these challenges with the least loss and damage as Myanmar carried out preparations.
- It need to grow trees in order to prevent unfavourable weather conditions and strong wind.
- After the cyclone Mocha, foodstuffs are being sent from Yangon to the local people, departmental personnel and security forces in Sittwe for convenience of food supply.
- As the Tatmadaw is born of the people, it is a part of the State. Therefore, the Tatmadaw will firmly stand tall for the State to be able to correctly walk on the multi-party democracy path.
- To ensure the prosperity of the State, the country must be stable and fully democratic.
- To be peaceful and stable in the State, armed conflicts must cease. Only when measures are taken to instill knowledge and skills in the people, will the lives of them improve.
- The Tatmadaw has been constantly supporting the education of offsprings of Tatmadaw families and presenting honorary cash awards to outstanding ones.
Then, the SAC Chairman Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services and wife provided foodstuffs and cash assistance for the military personnel and families of the respective military stations through the officials.
After the meetings, the SAC Chairman Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services and party cordially greeted the officers, other ranks and families, and trainees at the meetings.
