As the basic education high, middle and primary-level schools under Department of Basic Education for 2023-2024 Academic Year will reopen starting from 1 June, the school enrollment week is designated from 18 to 31 May, and students will be enrolled in their respective schools across the country starting from the morning of 18 May.
In doing so, the headmasters and headmistresses, administration in-charges and teachers from relevant basic education schools in respective regions and states arranged students and their parents in order to facilitate the school enrollment process and also freely provided the stationaries and blank books sponsored by Ministry of Education to the enrolled students.
On 18 May, the first day of the school enrollment week, a total of 1,343,037 students enrolled at Basic Education Schools, Private Schools and Monastic Schools in respective regions and states. The relevant security force members together with conscientious people are taking necessary measures for the security matters of the schools, teachers, students and their parents who enroll at the respective schools.
In this regards, Union Minister for Education Dr. Nyunt Pe, Nay Pyi Taw Council chairman, chief ministers of regions and states, commanders of respective military regional commands and officials inspected the schools and attended to the needs.
