Tatmadaw Special Medical Team and Ministry of Health Provides Healthcare Services to Locals in Sagaing Region

The Tatmadaw special medical team including military specialists, doctors and nurses from Tatmadaw and Ministry of Health provided healthcare services to 630 local people in wards and surrounding villages at the city hall of Shwe Bo township of Sagaing region on 17 May.

275 patients who need medical treatments, 36 patients who need surgical operations, 30 patients with pediatric diseases, 25 patients with obstetric/gynecologic diseases, 59 orthopedic diseases, 19 patients with ENT related diseases, 147 patients with eye diseases and 39 patients with dental and oral diseases were given medical treatment. Among them, four patients who need general operation and nine eye patients were provided necessary surgical operations by Mobile Surgical Unit.

Moreover, diagnoses and treatments were also provided to five patients who need to take X-ray scans, 32 ultrasound scanning patients, 46 cardiologic patients undergoing ECG procedures and 65 patients who need to receive laboratory tests by using mobile x-ray vehicle and mobile laboratory vehicle. Health awareness discussion on hypertension and diabetes was also presented to locals. Officials treated the patients receiving medical treatment to lunch.

Officials from local battalion encouraged the patients and coordinated with their requirement, it is reported.
