The Parade of the 78th Anniversary of Armed Forces Day took place at Nay Pyi Taw military parade ground on 27 March, 2023 with an address delivered by the Chairman of the State Administration Council, Senior General Thadoe Maha Thray Sithu Thadoe Thiri Thudhama Min Aung Hlaing.
At the parade ceremony, Anawrahta column, Kyansittha column, Bayint Naung column, Aungzeya column, Sinphyushin column, Bandula column, Aung San column led by the column commanders together with the military bands which would participate in the parade ceremony marched towards the parade ground by order.
During that time, the wife of State Administration Council Chairman Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, wife of the State Administration Council Vice-Chairman and Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Daw Than Than Nwe, wives of senior military officials, family members of officials and other ranks, movies and music artistes welcomed and honoured the columns by garlanding them with flowers.
The SAC Chairman, Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services, Senior General Thadoe Maha Thray Sithu Thadoe Thiri Thudhama Min Aung Hlaing arrived at the parade ground and took position at the dais taking the salute of the Tatmadaw members and MPF members from the columns. Next, he inspected the parade columns and delivered an address.
Then, the SAC Chairman, Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services, Senior General Thadoe Maha Thray Sithu Thadoe Thiri Thudhama Min Aung Hlaing was saluted –
- By two MI-2M helicopters, one MI-17 transport helicopters, three MI-35 P helicopters, one Su-30SME fourth generation fighter, seven MiG-29 multi-role fighters, one H-125 helicopter, two Eurocopter helicopters, one MTX-1A aircraft, five PT-6 aircraft, one Y-12 IV transport aircraft, two Grob-120 TP aircraft, one ATR-42 transport aircraft and two Beech 1900D transport aircraft;
- Six K-8W jet fighters, one A-5JK bomber aircraft, four Yak-130 jet fighters, five FTC-2000G jet fighters by carrying flags, in various formation flights, and by emitting yellow-coloured, green-coloured, and red-coloured smokes.
Afterwards, the SAC Chairman Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services, Senior General Thadoe Maha Thray Sithu Thadoe Thiri Thudhama Min Aung Hlaing cordially greeted the guests and left the parade ground and the parade marking the 78th Anniversary of the Armed Forces Day, 2023 successfully concluded.
The ceremony was attended by SAC members, Union Level officials, family members of the Thirty Comrades, family members of the retired Commanders-in-Chief of Defence Services, retired senior military officers (Army, Navy and Air), senior military officers of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army, Navy and Air), military attachés and officials from foreign missions, representatives from the armed ethnic groups who have signed the NCA, artistes, responsible persons from Myanmar Press Council, invited guests and local and foreign media.
