A Combined Group Comprising KNLA Brigade (6) and PDF Terrorists Launched Surprise Attack Against Local Military HQs in Kyar-inn-seikgyi Township

On 4 January, a combined armed group comprising a mass of KNLA brigade (6) and PDF terrorists with using heavy/ small arms launched surprise attacks against the local tactical command HQs, and battalion command HQs in Kyar-inn-seikgyi township of Kayin state around 6:20 am.

Although the combined armed group comprising a mass number of KNLA brigade (6) and PDF terrorists launched synchronized attacks against the local military units in Kyar-inn-seikgyi area, their attack failed and they fled in disarray because the officers, other ranks and family members in the local military units had already received the information stating that terrorist groups would carry out acts of terrorism and sabotages on the occasion of 75th Anniversary of Diamond Jubilee Independence Day, and systematically prepared for the attack in readiness.

Although the combined terrorist groups launched surprise attacks against the local battalion command HQs, the courageous and resilient attacks of officers, other ranks and family members managed to prevent the terrorists from approaching the critical facilities, administrative buildings and housings of the battalions. Subsequently, the terrorists fled after burning down some abandoned buildings near the fences.

In the above-mentioned incidents, some dead bodies and arms/ammunitions of the combined terrorist groups were confiscated and military columns of reinforcement reportedly continue taking necessary measures for the security of the Kyar-inn-seikgyi area.

Likewise, combined terrorist groups with a mass number in strength using heavy/ small arms launched attacks on the Mae Wile military outpost which is for the security and area dominance in Hpa-pun township of Kayin state around 5 am on 4 January. However, officers and other ranks discharging duties at the outpost with security awareness and alert, resiliently attacked against the combined terrorist groups. As a result, the combined terrorist groups suffered heavy casualties and fled in disarray.

In the incident mentioned above, some officers and other ranks were injured and arms/ammunitions and related accessories of the combined terrorist groups were seized.

It is reported that the Tatmadaw will continue taking necessary security measures to ensure the community peace, stability and rule of law in the country.
