The Ministry of Electric Power is making efforts to fulfil the electricity requirements of the people. In spite of the efforts, it is still not enough to meet the electricity requirements of the people and therefore, distributing electric power in the country is carried out in fair shares based on the capacity of power generation.
Among the power lines generating and distributing electric power to meet the electricty requirements of the people, the electricity generated from Balu Chaung hydropower plants reaches national power system. On 13 December 2022, the NUG’s affiliate PDF terrorists blew up two transmission towers from 132 KV Balu Chaung 2 – Tigyit power line. On the same day, the terrorists also blew up a transmission tower of 66 KV Aunglan – Thayat power line that distributing electricity to the Thayat township and in the vicinity. Moreover, the terroists again destroyed the 66 KV Mindat – Matubi powreline using explosives on 14 December. At present, service personnel from Ministry of Electric Power are undertaking the tasks of repairing the damage transmission tower and power line as early as possible so that the distribution of electricity continues to meet the electricity requirements of the people.
The NUG’s affiliate PDF terrorists had destroyed infrastructures and facilities of electric power for 44 times and the Ministry of Electric Power continues to make repeated repair works in collaboration with security personnel in concerned areas, it is reported.
