The Ministry of Electric Power issued a press release that the ministry is making efforts to fulfil the electricity requirements of the people, and the people are also informed to cooperate in the prevention of the shootings of civil servants, and firing at and bombing attacks by terrorists on State’s infrastructures that are generating and distributing electric power in the country.

The NUG’s affiliate PDF terrorists carried out the attacks on staffs from the Ministry of Electricity and Energy who are doing the generation and distribution tasks of electric power to meet the electricity requirements of the people, and destroyed the power plants and electrical grids that are generating power in the country, leaving an innocent civil servant, Township Electrical Engineer serving at the Kyaiktho Township Electrical Engineering Office in Mon State, Electricity Supply Enterprise (ESE) died in the attack of the terrorists in Kyaikhto Township in the evening of 29 November 2022 during his duty hours, and causing 13 townships faced power outage in the aftermath of the heavy weapon attack on 230 kV Nyaungbingyi-Chaungkuu national grid on 28 November 2022. Moreover, the terrorists forcibly took the cash from the staff of the 20.54 MW Kyunchaung gas power plant in Magway Region on 28 November 2022 and they then threatened lives of the staff if they did not pay the cash to the terrorists, resulting the foreign staff left and the power plant suspended and the rate of power supply also declined.
Service personnel from Ministry of Electric Power are undertaking the tasks of maintenance and new construction of power stations, national grids, and distribution grids day and night to provide sufficient power supply that is the most fundamental need for the public. Additionally, they are collecting electricity charges from users who do not pay the electricity bill that they used to gain the electric charges that is also the State’s fund.
The NUG’s affiliate PDF terrorists want to disturb the tasks of service personnel and they shot at service personnel from Ministry of Electric Power for 24 times. Aiming to destroy the State’s infrastructure distributing electric supply to the public, they also bombed and fired at power stations, electrical substations, offices and family housings civil servants for 209 times. As they blew up 48 power pylons of the national grid and 49 power pylons of distribution grid, it is found that 160 mega-watts to distribute to the national grid were declined and power supply could not distributed to the people in some areas because some pylons could not be repaired yet.
As terrorists launch attacks on electrical service personnel while the latter from Ministry of Electric Power were doing repair works for several times for destroyed power pylons, 19 were killed and 56 got injured. However, the Ministry of Electric Power continues to make repeated repair works in collaboration with security personnel in concerned areas.
