On 31 December during the new year holidays, the people across the country are enjoying the holidays by celebrating the new year, going out vocations and pilgrimages.
· In the evening of new year eve, people including elders, youths and families were happily celebrating the new year on bank of Inya lake in Yangon city.
· The flow of visitors to the Chaungtha beach of Ayeyarwady region continues on 31 December.
· The historic pagodas of Swetaw Thonsu pagoda on the side of Bagan-NyaungU, Swaltaw Myat pagoda on Tantkyitaung hill in Pakokku Township, Maha Nghatpyittaung pagoda, Hteelominlo pagoda, Ananda, and Sulamuni pagodas are crowded with pilgrims and visitors.
· On the artificial hills made for people to enjoy the sunsets of Bagan-NyaungU ancient cultural zone were also thronged with local visitors.
· The Pwe Kauk waterfalls (BE falls) in Pyin Oo Lwin was also thronged with local visitors across the country during the new year holidays. Moreover, the families of local visitors thronged on the LED bridge which was upgraded in the waterfalls, and child playgrounds.
On 31 December, families were happily enjoying the new year celebrations in major cities, pagodas and temples, and beaches across the country.
