The Myanmar delegation led by the Union Minister for International Cooperation U Ko Ko Hlaing and Union Minister for Legal Affairs and Union Attorney-General Dr Thida Oo, who had attended the public hearings of the preliminary objections submitted by Myanmar to the International Court of Justice, arrived back to Yangon International Airport on 2 March.
The Chief minister of Yangon Region, the Commander of Yangon region Command and officials, responsible persons from political parties, officials from the Myanmar Interfaith Friendship Organization (Central) and the Young Men’s Buddhist Association (YMBA) (Central), departmental personnel and people including Buddhist monks heartily welcomed to the Myanmar delegation, holding the flags of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and the vinyl signboards of “ Proudly welcome to Myanmar Delegation who had made brave efforts at the ICJ for the interests of the State and the people”.
At the hearings, the Union Minister U Ko Ko Hlaing presented that the ICJ lacks jurisdiction under the law. International counsels and advocates for Myanmar submitted their presentations with firm facts and data for the preliminary objections raised by Myanmar to the Court.
